Upon
completion of the 8 seminars, students will be able to plan, produce and
analyze highly specialized, written and spoken texts in academic English,
especially in their field of research. This will be verified through their
abilities and autonomy to: 1. attend to and work on pronunciation patterns; 2.
practice and improve skills to define/describe/explain
concepts/procedures/results using adequate phrase/sentence/paragraph
structures; 3. review/learn lexicogrammar, including: impersonal language;
adequacy of verb forms/aspects; typical constructions in academic
communication; 4. explore internet-based resources for autonomous learning and
(tele)collaboration in advanced language practice/refinement.
